THIS GAME WAS MADE FOR THE "WEEKLY GAME JAM 135"

SHOOTING SUN

I am a 13yo guy who recently started to make games in Unity and this is my third official release. I know this game needs lots of improvements, but given the deadline of the challenge this is all I could do.

The idea of the game is very simple: you play as the Sun, your goal is to save Earth and destroy meteorites (or "shooting stars", the theme of the jam) using a gun that shoots smaller shooting stars. Sounds like a terrible idea? Yes, indeed.

HOW TO PLAY

  • Use W-A-S-D or arrow keys to move the player.
  • Use LMB to shoot at falling meteorites.
  • Don't let the World's health go 0.
  • Pickup the powerups that appear in the level.
  • Make the highest score you can reach.

CREDITS

  • Thanks to Evan King who made the music that I used in the game
  • Thanks to BFXR for the sound effects

(I apologize for bad english or bugs in the game but I'm italian and I'm a beginner, so please don't judge me)

Ciao, ti vorrei contattare, dove ti posso scrivere?

Ok grazie mille

The music goes pretty well with the game. An area for improvement though would be the character movements. When you let go of the movement key, the character still slightly moves in the general direction you were heading. Although this does add some difficulty into the game so maybe create a difficulty setting for the game and keep the current movement controls for the hard difficulty.

Thanks for the advices! Probably I will update the game to improve it, but now I'm working at other games. Also, the character still moves after you leaved the movement key because I'm using a Rigidbody2D component for the movement, so the player has physics attached to him.
